Sunday Photo
Once there was a little family, ordinary, yet not so ordinary. Mom and Dad still in their 30s, Dad in coat and tie, the expected thing when dressing for church. Mom in one of her few store bought dresses, sleeveless bodice and pleated skirt. She has frosted her hair and is wearing a wiglet. The children are shown in various modes of dressy clothes, no blue jeans, three of four with clip on neckties. The little girl, in velvet dress and knee socks looks good enough to eat.
We might have been ordinary, but my in memory of that time we were hardly that. It is part of our history, our memories of what the family meant. All huddled together, posing for the camera and afterward, still staying close for strength and comfort.

What a great picture and great memoires ! THings aren't like they used to be -when families were so important. Its beautiful-thanks for sharing it
you're trying to make me cry early in the morning aren't you??!

we were one good looking lot, weren't we?
@Southland - No crying!! Remember how good you felt in that dress and how we loved all doing things together. Good times. Didn't you just LOVE your daddy? He was one handsome dude! Mom
Wow did you share that with COF? And who took the picture?
While today's casual dress in church may bother us some aren't we glad people go?
I suspect it was all more than ordinary...
I think we all take that for granted when we are living through it...
but it is when we look back to see how far we have come...
and how it made us who we are today...
that we pause to realize it was all quite amazing!
What a lovely family. I'm glad the memories are special too.
